Emmanuel Adebayor is close to signing a permanent deal at Tottenham Hotspur. The striker is surplus to requirements at Manchester City and Tottenham chairman Daniel Levy is eyeing a cut-price deal to bring Adebayor back to White Hart Lane.
Last season the 28-year old Togolese striker was on a season-long loan at Spurs from Manchester City. He enjoyed a successful season, scoring 17 goals and providing 11 assists in the league.
It comes as no surprise that new manager Andre Villas-Boas is keen to extend Adebayor’s stay at White Hart Lane after already having signed defender Jan Vertonghen and midfielder Gylfi Sigurdsson. Jermain Defoe is currently Spurs’ only one senior striker on the payroll after Louis Saha was released a couple of weeks ago.
