Scott Parker will miss the start of the season after undergoing successful surgery to his right Achilles tendon.
The Spurs midfielder missed pre-season due to recurring problems with his right Achilles. He initially sought advice from Spurs’ medical team if surgery was necessary. After initial treatment surgery proved inevitable.
Parker picked up the injury at the end of last season and was ruled out for several games throughout April and May. He received an injection in his Achilles after Spurs’ last Premier League game of the season against Fulham. Despite his injury Parker featured in 4 games during England’s Euro 2012 campaign.
The midfielder is expected to return to training after the international break in September. Therefore he will also miss England’s World Cup qualifiers against Moldova and Ukraine.
