Spurs will face Olympique Lyonnais in the Europa League’s round of 32.
The draw took place this afternoon in the Swiss city of Nyon and was performed by former Holland international Patrick Kluivert and UEFA director of competitions Giorgio Marchetti.
Spurs were placed in the unseeded pot after finishing second in Group J. Therefore, Spurs could draw any team out of the seeded pot, except Liverpool, Chelsea and Lazio since a club can’t draw an opponent from its home country or the group it advanced from.
The draw put Spurs up against Olympique Lyonnais in the round of 32. One of the toughest draws possible. Lyon currently are ranked second in the French Ligue 1 with 35 points from 18 games, but are equal on points with league leaders Paris Saint-Germain.
The first leg of the clash with Lyon will take place February 14th, the second leg on the 21st of February. When Spurs come out victorious from their two encounters with Lyon they will face either Internazionale or Cluj in the round of 16.
